2. WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT AND HOW DO WE COLLECT IT?

3. HOW AND WHY DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?

  • 3.1.2.Where we need to comply with a legal obligation.

We use this as necessary for our legitimate interests in marketing to you and maintain a list of potential customers. If you "opt-out" of our marketing materials you will be added to our suppression list to ensure we do not accidentally send you further marketing.

This includes information you provide when you correspond with us, as well as details of your employment, contact details, and our relationship with you. We use this as necessary for our legitimate interests in managing our relationship with your employer.
  • 3.2.6.Job Applications. If you apply for a position with us, we hold and use information on you. This will include information you provide to us in your application, as well as opinion information on you from any referees you provide. We use this as necessary to enter into an employment contract with you, and for our legitimate interests in evaluating candidates and recording our recruitment activities, and as necessary to exercise and perform our employment law obligations and rights.
  • 3.2.7.Record keeping to deal with legal claims. We may retain your personal information to ensure that we can properly bring or defend legal claims.
  • 3.2.8.Former Employees. If you used to work for us, your information will be used in accordance with our employee privacy notice. If you are a former employee or contractor and require a copy of this, please contact us.
• 3.3.If you fail to provide personal information If we have (or are entering into) a contract with you, and you fail to provide certain information when requested, we may not be able to perform (or enter into) that contract, or we may be prevented from complying with our legal obligations.

If we need to use your personal information for an unrelated purpose, we will notify you and we will explain the legal basis which allows us to do so. 4. SHARING YOUR INFORMATION

As well as any sharing listed above and in section 3 (How and why do we use your information) we may also share your information with third parties, including third-party service providers and other entities in our group. We require third parties to respect the security of your personal information and to treat it in accordance with the law. We never sell your data to third parties. We may share your personal information with third parties if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal information in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our agreements with you, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of us, our customers, or others or where we have another legitimate interest in doing so. • 4.3.How secure is your information with third-party service providers and other entities in your group? All our third-party service providers and other entities in the group are required to take appropriate security measures to protect your personal information in line with our policies. We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal information for their own purposes. We only permit them to process your personal information for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.
• 4.4.What about other third parties? We may share your personal information with other third parties, for example in the context of the possible sale or restructuring of the business. We may also need to share your personal information with a regulator or to otherwise comply with the law.

5. WHERE WE STORE YOUR INFORMATION

• 5.1.Our office headquarters are based in Folkestone and our main data centre is located in the UK. However, where required to perform our contract with you or for our wider business purposes, the information that we hold about you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the UK and the EU. It may also be processed by staff operating outside the UK and EU who work for one of our service providers. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your personal information is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy notice.
• 5.2.We may transfer data to the following countries outside of the UK and the EU which the EU considers to have an adequate data protection regime in place [Andorra, Argentina, Faroe Islands, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Israel, Jersey, New Zealand, Switzerland, Uruguay, and organisations in the United States which are certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield framework].

• 6.2.Third parties will only process your personal information on our instructions and where they have agreed to treat the information confidentially and to keep it secure.
• 6.3.We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal information from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal information to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal information on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

7. HOW LONG WILL WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION FOR?

• 7.1.We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. To determine the appropriate retention period for personal information, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal information, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal information, the purposes for which we process your personal information and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.

  • 7.2.1.Contact information such as your name, email address and telephone number is kept for marketing purposes for a period of up to 6 years after you last contacted us.
  • 7.2.2.Employee information where you work for one of our customers, suppliers or business partners is kept for up to 6 years after the end of our relationship with your organisation.
  • 7.2.3.Content which you post on our website such as reviews, photographs, videos, blog posts, discussion board posts, survey responses and other content is kept for as long as you have an account with us and may be retained for a period of up to 6 years after you close your account. You are able to remove or delete any content which you post at any time while your account is active by contacting info@rocksaltfolkestone.co.uk.
  • 7.2.4.Technical information which is collected via technical means such as cookies, webpage counters and other analytics tools is kept for a period of up to 24 months.
  • 7.2.5.Visitor information which is collected about visitors to our premises is kept for a period of up to 12 months. If you have an accident on our premises, our accident records are retained for a period of up to 6 years.
  • 7.2.6.Telephone recordings which we make of your telephone conversations with us may be kept for a period of up to 36 months.
  • 7.2.7.CCTV recordings may be kept for a period of up to 14 days (unless there an incident occurs and it is necessary for us to keep recordings for longer to properly deal with it).
  • 7.2.8.Emails and records of other contact which don't fall into any of the categories above will generally be kept for up to 6 years after we have received them.
• 7.3.In some circumstances we may anonymise your personal information so that it can no longer be associated with you, in which case we may use such information without further notice to you.

8. YOUR RIGHTS

• 8.1.Data protection law gives you a number of rights when it comes to personal information we hold about you. The key rights are set out below. 1. Promoter

This promotion is jointly promoted by Rocksalt Restaurant and Squerryes Winery (together referred to as “the Promoters”).

2. Eligibility

The giveaway is open to UK residents aged 18 years or over at the time of entry. Employees of the Promoters, their immediate families, agents, or anyone professionally connected with this promotion are not eligible to enter.

3. How to Enter

Entry instructions are detailed in the official Instagram giveaway post. No purchase is necessary. Entries submitted after the stated closing date and time will not be accepted.

4. Entry Period

The giveaway opens on the date the Instagram post goes live and closes at 10:00am on Saturday 14 February 2026.

5. Prize

One winner will receive the following prize package for two people: a luxury overnight stay with Rocksalt, including a three-course dinner, bed and breakfast, one bottle of Squerryes wine to enjoy during dinner, and a Squerryes Tour & Tasting Experience, including lunch for two. The prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable and has no cash alternative.

6. Prize Validity & Redemption

The prize must be claimed and fully redeemed within 6 months of the winner being announced. All elements of the prize are subject to availability and advance booking is required. The Squerryes Tour & Tasting Experience typically runs Thursday to Sunday, subject to availability. Lunch is included from the set menu where applicable. From 1 April to 31 October, when a set menu is not available, a voucher will be issued towards lunch in the restaurant instead.

7. Exclusions & Restrictions

The prize cannot be redeemed over Bank Holiday weekends and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, promotion, or discount. Any additional food, drink, travel, or incidental costs not expressly included in the prize are the responsibility of the winner.

8. Winner Selection & Notification

The winner will be selected at random from all valid entries received during the entry period. The winner will be contacted via Instagram Direct Message shortly after the giveaway closes. If the winner does not respond within a reasonable timeframe, the Promoters reserve the right to select an alternative winner.

9. Publicity
